Beginning a bathing routine well before your wedding day, will allow you to get your skin in the best condition it can be. You'll need to keep at the regimen, but the glow you'll show on your wedding day will make it all worth it!
Most women don't realize that they should be applying a first coat of a moisturizer before they get into the tub. A liquid oil moisturizer will serve to soften and lubricate your skin. Once the moisturizer is applying, step into the tub and proceed as usual with your regular cleaning and body scrub. A daily program of mild exfoliation (removing the dead top layer of skin) is important to begin (and continue) as early as possible. There are a variety of pumice stones (rough, emery board texture) available which are appropriate for the various parts of your body . . . rougher ones for feet, more gentle ones for elbows.
Once you have cleaned your body thoroughly, step out of the tub and towel dry. gentle towel drying keeps your skin from losing precious moisture. Treat yourself to a quick-drying towel for your hair. It will remove excess moisture, gently.
Removing makeup with a makeup remover is not a substitute for cleansing your skin. The best cleansing agent is soap. To counteract soap's drying effects, use a moisturizer suited to your skin type. Use washcloth or sponge. Lathering using just your hand alone doesn't do the job because it's the rubbing that does the scrubbing, not the soap. The cleansing product you use should match your skin type. Some women, have scalier, rougher and can afford to use a heavier, more textured cleaning product, others with more delicate skin, need a more gentle product.
When cleansing your face, remember that your back, chest and shoulders should be given the same attention as your face and, if you can reach, use the same masks, pore reducers, tightening and scrubbing products in those areas, as well.
This simple cleansing routine will get your skin to look its best, while you give yourself some precious de-stressing time, every day.
