Summer weddings hold out the promise of warm weather, flowers in bloom, beautiful backdrops
and much more. They do, however, also present challenges, especially with regard to attire.
Here are some guidelines to help you shop.
1- Dress to suit the level of formality. Only if the invitation is after six, or "White Tie, are you required to wear a floor-length gown. Such "restrictions" are rare in summer weddings.
2- Follow summer's palette and choose a floral print, or pastel color for a daytime or outdoor wedding.
3- Albeit you should dress more formally for an after-six wedding, summer allows you to look summery with sleeveless and sandals. Be mindful not to go overboard by "uncovering."
4- Protect yourself from summer meltdown by limiting your hair style to a soft up-do, or by the use of pretty hair clips and barrettes.
5- Although white is a summer color, it's a no-no for guests and is reserved for the bride.
6- Legs can be bare (no hosiery necessary), light makeup wears best and heavy, clunky jewelry will be annoying and should be omitted.
7- Keep hydrates (non-alcoholic) during the wedding.
. . . . and remember to have a great summer time.
